Description
This ITH plush duck is a fun and beginner-friendly in-the-hoop embroidery project. You create a soft stuffed toy directly in your embroidery hoop and only need a small amount of hand sewing at the end.
The design comes in three files: wings, beak and feet, and the body. This structure keeps the process simple and helps you work step by step with clean results.
- Stitch the wings: First, hoop your fabric with stabilizer. Then stitch the outline, add a soft padding layer, and place the top fabric. After that, use topping foil so the stitches stay clean. Finally, finish the embroidery and cut out the wings.
- Create beak and feet: Next, repeat the same process with a contrasting fabric. Start with the outline, then add padding, place the top fabric, and use topping again. In the end, finish the embroidery and cut out all pieces.
- Prepare the body: After that, hoop your main fabric and stitch the facial details. Also, use topping to keep the stitches from sinking into the plush fabric.
- Attach all parts: Then position the wings, beak, and feet using the placement marks. Stitch them securely in place, starting from the center so nothing shifts during stitching.
- Close the body: Once everything is attached, add the back layer of fabric. Then stitch around the shape and leave a small opening for turning.
- Finish the plush: Finally, trim the edges, turn the duck right side out, and fill it with stuffing. Afterward, close the opening neatly with a ladder stitch.
